If you’re new here, welcome! I’m Sasha. My husband, Matt, and I purchased our Victorian home about two and a half years ago. Since then, we have been renovating and decorating it slowly, while trying to maintain its historic charm. I have been following the One Room Challenge for inspiration since we moved in, so it was a thrill to participate for the first time this spring when we tackled our guest bathroom renovation! For this One Room Challenge, we will be finishing our sunroom. I will be sharing the progress on Instagram as well as here.

This Weeks’ Progress
This week has been very productive! I have almost finished the green accent chairs. The last things I need to do are sew together the skirt for the second chair, attach it, attach the fringe to the skirts for both chairs, and attach the buttons. I still need to reupholster the second set of chairs. Luckily, those chairs are smaller and it shouldn’t require any sewing. I purchased premade piping for them so I do not need to take the time to sew that too.
Here is what the first chair looks like so far!
Over the weekend, I found another inexpensive garden stool at a vintage shop that I couldn’t pass up because the colors work so well with the palette for this room.
Here is the trim I plan on using on the green chairs.
This is the fabric and piping for the smaller accent chairs.
The lamps don’t need to sit on the floor anymore! I couldn’t find any side tables with the appropriate dimensions on Facebook Marketplace so I ordered these over the weekend and they arrived on Monday.
This mirror was another find from a vintage shop over the weekend.
I grabbed one of my potted camellias from outdoors to stick in this decorative pot for the picture. However, Ermen the plant inspector took issue with it so I swapped it out for one of the plants in our living room.
As you may remember, I ordered the fabric for the curtains back in July during a sale. I began sewing this weekend and quickly realized I didn’t have enough fabric. Well, it turns out I accidentally used a length of 78″ in my initial calculations instead of 87″. I tried reordering the fabric from the site I purchased it from in July, but it had gone out of business. So, I placed an order elsewhere. Then, yesterday, I was notified that that fabric is backordered until the end of the month. Now I need to find another source for it ASAP. Don’t do what I did – remember to measure twice and order once!
Remaining Tasks to Accomplish
- Finish reupholstering chairs
- Finish sewing curtains
- Make lampshades
- Install curtain rods
- Install wall shelves for plants
- Purchase new door knob
- Source and purchase ottoman
- Source and purchase remaining accents and décor
