If you’re new here, welcome! I’m Sasha. My husband, Matt, and I purchased our Victorian home about two and a half years ago. Since then, we have been renovating and decorating it slowly, while trying to maintain its historic charm. I have been following the One Room Challenge for inspiration since we moved in, so it was a thrill to participate for the first time this spring when we tackled our guest bathroom renovation! For this One Room Challenge, we will be finishing our sunroom. I will be sharing the progress on Instagram as well as here.

This Weeks’ Progress
We’re in the home stretch and finally wrapping things up! It feels like there is still a lot to do, but the end is in sight and it feels manageable in the amount of time remaining. Here’s a recap of what I’ve worked on this week.
l
I started making pleated shades for the two lamps in the room.
These are the remaining two chairs I needed to reupholster.
I chose a pink piping as a contrast for the off-white fabric to coordinate with the pink in the rest of the room. The curtains have not been hemmed yet because I needed to hang them first. Unfortunately, the hooks that were supposed to get here last week, just came last night. The two panels that were hung up in the pictures are held up by the remaining four hooks I did not use for the shower curtain I made for my spring One Room Challenge project. It was so sunny while we were installing the curtain rods on Sunday that we needed some reprieve from the direct sunlight!
The shelves are finally up. Now we need to paint them and put some plants / decorations on them!
The shade is only half complete, but I put it back on the lamp because I wanted to see how the fabric looked with the curtain fabric.
Here’s another shot of the half complete lampshade and barely hung up curtains so you can see how all the different fabrics and prints look as the design comes together.
I wanted an ottoman, but settled for a table. If the price is right and so are the dimensions, why not mix up your original plans? I found this table on Facebook Marketplace for $45. The matching side table was included.
My husband and I drove half an hour to get it and our GPS led us to a barn by the side of the road. This sounds ridiculous, but the first thing I noticed about the barn was a massive spider hanging out in its web above the set of tables. I stopped Matt before he put the tables in the car and had him do a thorough spider check in the drawers and underneath them… The man we bought the tables from probably thought I was crazy. 😂
We’re going to use our paint sprayer for the first time on the shelves and table! We are both super excited to try it.
