This Palram Canopia Greenhouse is the Perfect Option for Small Gardens! [Review]

Finding greenhouses for small gardens can be difficult. Here’s my review of the Palram Canopia greenhouse and some small garden design ideas with greenhouses.

Where I purchased it & why I chose this greenhouse model

We purchased the Palram Canopia greenhouse from Amazon two years ago. It’s currently available at Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Wayfair. We chose to purchase it on Amazon because it was on sale at the time. Since we have a small garden, we needed a small greenhouse so we went with the 7′ x 8′ x 9′ option. I liked the hexagonal shape because it was unique and would add interest to our kitchen garden.

Product details

This greenhouse consists of a frame of aluminum and galvanized steel with polycarbonate panels. It has double doors at the entrance and an adjustable louvre window at the back.

This product claims that the frame will withstand winds up to 55 mph and the polycarbonate panels are virtually unbreakable. I have to say, these claims were seriously put to the test this fall when Hurricane Helene swept through our town! The local windspeed recorded was over 80 mph and three large trees on our property were toppled over, but this greenhouse was still standing after the storm passed. A lattice panel fell into the side of it as well and did not break the panels.

Assembly

We set most of the greenhouse up in one day. We could have finished in one day, but chose to put it off until the next day. The assembly was fairly straightforward and all pieces that were supposed to come with the kit were included. Assembling this greenhouse is definitely a two person job and it requires a ladder.

Accessories

There are several accessories that you can purchase for this greenhouse, such as shelves and hangers. We chose not to purchase any of the accessories until we had used it for a while and figured out what would best suit our needs. In case you’re interested, I’ve linked some below.
