When we moved into our house, our dining room, like much of the rest of the house, was painted a dull beige-green. However, with its beautiful antique chandelier, large old windows, and high ceilings, I know this space has great potential! We won’t be able to fully update the space until we renovate our bathroom directly above it. Nevertheless, I did paint the room recently. I got sick of seeing our beautiful, old chandelier against the dull, dinged-up walls so I decided it was time for a change.
On a whim, I chose the color Templeton Gray. This is from Benjamin Moore’s Historical Collection. It has never read gray in my house – always a deep blue-green, which is the same color I painted our built-in china cabinet in the kitchen. Once we remodel our bathroom, I plan to add picture frame moulding, with mural wallpaper inside the boxes, sew new curtains, and reupholster the dining room chairs. Could these Iksel Decorative Arts murals paired with these deep blues and greens be any more perfect?
While the color alone is a huge improvement, I am excited thinking about what else we can do. As I continue to dream about my future plans, these dining rooms will be on my mind!
Thank you for reading!
