Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5
Thank you for joining me on the journey to complete our guest bathroom renovation in the next eight weeks for the One Room Challenge! If you’re new here, I’m Sasha. My husband, Matt, and I purchased our turn-of-the-century Victorian home almost two years ago, and we have been slowly renovating it ever since.
In case you missed them, my previous posts are linked at the top!
Well, tomorrow is the day that the new contractor is scheduled to come refinish our tub and sink. I hope they actually show up, unlike the last one. The remaining bullnose tiles came in so I was able to put them up over the weekend. However, I did not have time to grout them. After I got home from work today, I realized that I should probably grout the bullnose tile before the tub gets refinished. My reasoning behind that was that, if I finished the grout afterwards, the dye in the grout could potentially stain the newly refinished tub or the ladder could damage the finish. So I spent my evening grouting and cleaning. It’s still not 100% cleaned up yet so I will have to finish that in the morning.
Accomplishments
Contrary to last week, it feels as though a lot was accomplished this week! Many of the bathroom accessories and hardware pieces came in this week and are now installed. It has felt like Christmas, without the element of surprise.
I’m still debating what to do with the sash cords: paint them the same color as the frame or leave them white. Eventually, we will replace them, but, it is not high on the priority list at the moment. What do you think?
This Week’s To-Do List
Here is a brief snapshot of this week’s to-do list. You may have noticed that most of last week’s items have been removed because they are complete. Yay!!
- Touch up paint
- Make second sconce shade
- Make curtain
- Get wood for shelf
I will be sharing more throughout the week via Instagram stories so please join me there as well. Make sure you check out the other One Room Challenge participants here. Good luck to everyone with your renovations.
See you next week!
